     Don't worry.  Most people who volunteer and want to experience hypnosis
will go in to the hypnotic state. Some people allow themselves to go into a
deeper state while other experience a lighter state of hypnosis.  It takes focus,
concentration and desire to be hypnotized on the part of the volunteer.  When
those ingredients are present,  Kevin expertly will take you into hypnosis. 

     In order to go into hypnosis, you must be able to focus and concentrate
on the instructions given to you by the hypnotist.  You must want to be
hypnotized in order for it to work.  Sometimes the surrounding environment
may interfere with the process itself.  You may have been amongst your close
friends, family or co-workers and were unable at that time to allow yourself
to let go enough to enter into the hypnotic state.  Hypnosis is a natural state
of the mind.  It takes practice to become good at it.  Try again next time! 

     The volunteers up on stage only look like they are sleeping to you or me in
the audience.  That is because when the hypnotist commands "Sleep!," they
respond to that suggestion by relaxing their bodies completely.  While their
bodies are in this relaxed state, their minds are not.  Their senses and
awareness is heightened 8 times and is focused entirely upon the hypnotist
and his suggestions.  They can hear and are aware of everything going on
around them at all times.

state by the hypnotist.  They are completely forgotten and the volunteers will not
respond to those same suggestions if given to them after the show is over.  The
exception to this are the post-hypnotic suggestions.

     Post-hypnotic suggestions are those suggestions which are given to a
selected few members of the volunteers at the end of the show.  These
suggestions are to be acted upon later as soon as the main part of the
show ends.  After all the other suggestions given earlier during the actual
show are removed, these post-hypnotic suggestions are then given.  Each
selected volunteer is given a particular suggestion to act upon whenever,
for example, a certain word is said.  The volunteers are then all awakened
and sent back to their seats in the audience.  The selected volunteers now
seated in the audience will respond on cue whenever the hypnotist says that
particular word.  After a very short time, depending upon the person, these
post-hypnotic suggestion will usually disappear completely from the volunteer's
mind.
